Love You Lord and thank You

Dear Lord, here am i
Looking at another passing year
Couldn't be more grateful to You
For all the blessings You've showered
For all the guidance, all the protection
For all the love, for all the mercy
Dear Lord, I owe my life to You!

Thumb Print Reindeer Gift Tags DIY

Its Christmas and is all about giving. Gifts and of course gift tags to make sure we got everybody in our list. We can get those little gift tags which says From and To, write the names and attach to the gifts. But what fun is that! How about making the gift tag ourselves? As simple as it may be, it says we enjoy the process, love the person receiving the gift, and we take time for them.

Piet Mondrian Inspired Illuminare - Reuse glass bottle

I love candles floating inside bottles illuminating the room. I have tried adding glitter, leaves, marble, pine cones into a glass bottle and floating a candle on top. Piet Mondrian, a Dutch artist believed in using just vertical and horizontal lines for his artistic representations. He advocated abstraction with a minimal palette.

Advent

Its Advent, a wonderful time of the year. We are already in the third week of Advent. We await the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Houses are cleaned, Christmas trees put up, adorned with ornaments, glittering and shimmering. Lights sparkle, illuminating the outside and the inside of houses. Recipes are discussed and menus are planned.  Dresses and gifts bought, kept ready for the festive day. Letters to Santa posted promptly, and of course greeting cards  posted to friends and families.

Friday Family Fun - Fingerpainting Christmas Tree

I always enjoy doing activities with my kids. And its even more special during festive time. But these days my kids' interests have changed a lot and so planned craft making is kind of dwindling. But when I try to do something on my own, it never fails to catch their attention. I was planning for a holiday party and wanted to try some crafts. And also I've been thinking of an idea of family finger painting christmas tree.  So I grabbed washable tempera paint and set up on the table. No sooner did I laid out the  paint and paper

Paper Angel craft - Christmas ornament

Its December, time for holiday parties! And that warrants a holiday craft - either a Christmas craft or winter craft. When I was thinking about holiday party next week in school, I remembered a paper plate angel craft which I had done in my son's 3 year old class in preschool.

Nothing to fear - poem

When I rest my head
Over Your chest
And kiss Your wounded heart
I feel Your immense love

I touch the nail wounds
My hands trembling
I raise my eyes to see
You smiling down at me

Friday Family Fun - Xmas Prep and board game

Its Advent already, that time of the year preparing and awaiting the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Christmas is all about giving, being thoughtful of the people around us, reaching out to those who are in need. If we are not doing those already Advent is the perfect time to start. Having celebrated Thanksgiving, having counted all our many blessings, now, its the time to reach out to others to share our blessings! And that's the essence of Christmas!

Friday Family Fun - Spaghetti Strength Balancing

How strong is spaghetti? How much strain it can tolerate before bending and before breaking? Can a bunch of spaghetti hold a book or two? Or even more? How do engineers build a bridge? How do they build a multilevel parking lot? What factors do they consider before building? WOW! How many questions arise? And how many more in kids' minds. Won't it be fun to feed those questions? Won't it be fun trying to understand?

Friday Family Fun - Finger Paint Figures

Finger painting is fun for all ages. Just dip your finger in paint and move it around - structured or unstructured! When done with family its even more enjoyable. Kids love to see the parents get messy with their hands, believe me! It gives them a happiness thinking that their parents are like them after all! :-) So here is a beautiful art which we did as family by finger painting.

Tiny seed, Neglected?

Image: Thanks Google

One sunny day by the pool
I sat relaxing with a book;
My boy swimming in the water
And I swimming in the words!

My eyes taking off from the book
Now and then to watch the kids;
WOW! One flight of my eyes landed
On a tiny sparrow, near the bush!

The day before Passover

Image:thanks Google

What were You thinking
The day before Passover
Were You satisfied
That You had well proclaimed, Oh...
The Kingdom of God
Or were you upset
The people did not listen
Oh Jesus, Jesus!

I do and still do

Thirteen years have rolled by
Since we held each others hands
And joyously pronounced, "I do"!
Sure, our lives have changed
We've had our ups and downs
But nothing changes the vow "I do"!
