Embracing the New Year 2018

Just about closing the cover
Just going once over the pages
As this year passes by
Bringing about a fresh one
I ponder over just a little bit

Myriad of moments
Oh, good and bad
Joyful and painful!
Out of all have I come through
All by His grace, all by His love
All by His incessant mercy!

Yet, yet  I realize
How silly I have been
Panicking some days
While He was holding me!
As I close this year
Treasuring some moments
And thanking God
I only ask
Lord, strenghen my faith!
For I love you
But you love me more!

Embracing the New Year 2018 snug in the arms of my Father Almighty! Blessed New year to all!
with love

Fall Decor DIY - Leaf illuminare

As the mercury dips and the air becomes crisp,  a little warmth will add cheer. Nature is so excellent in providing that warmth and I brought in few of those, beautiful crimson leaves. Reusing a bottle and using those gifts of nature, I said thanks for brightening my day.

The Pumpkin Prayer

Halloween is around the corner and people are excited about making jack-o-lanterns with pumpkins. It is believed that the custom of making jack-o-lanterns first started in Ireland. But they had used huge turnips and when this custom travelled overseas to the United States, pumpkins replaced turnips. May be because of the size! We don't see huge turnips in the US.

Mornings are cold and days are getting shorter, and soon there will be frost. Pumpkins have to be harvested before that. So harvest of pumpkins happens right in time for Halloween. Pumpkin patches, photobooths, pumpkin carving, pumpkin cider, pumpkin pie, pumpkin this and pumpkin that - pumpkins are everywhere. The orange pumpkins along with the red and yellow leaves do brighten up the gloomy fall season.

What is the boundary for setting limits to kids?

As parents we all face these questions at some point in our lives. Should I let my child know this? Should I expose my kid to this? How much of information can I share with my kid? I've been there and am there and am sure, I will be there. These are not questions which arise only once. And also these are  not questions which can be answered specifically to the point. These are more generic and also divergent.

God moves the clouds

Img: Thanks Internet

God moves the clouds! Yes, He does and so does He move the sun, the planets, everything He created. When I think of God's blessings am only overwhelmed with joy. Count your blessings, Oh, I really can't because those are too many - small and big. In this post I just want to share one testimony on how God can bless any event, moving the sun and the clouds.

DIY Staff Appreciation Card - Native American Designs

Teachers should be and deserve to be appreciated everyday, every moment. But staff appreciation week comes in handy to express our appreciation for them. Buying a card from store is simple and might be more beautiful. But cards made by the kids themselves  add an extra touch of love and appreciation.

Kids Building Bridges Fun Activity - Indoor Play

Soldiers build a bridge.

Military vehicles test the bridge.

Some soldiers building the bridge from the other side.

Connect the bridge to reach the enemy camp, says the commander.

The bridges from either ends didn't meet as expected. Happens in unknown war territory.

But the soldiers won't give up. They still work out strategies.

In the delicate bridge, soldiers advance carefully while some give cover.

Well, well it was an interesting play activity for a group of 7,8 year olds. Fun, isn't it?

Science Birthday Party Experiments

Had a Science birthday party for my son, specifically Chemistry themed party. Made a periodic table birthday cake, which I have posted already. I made the birthday banner with the element names and atomic number for each of the letter of 'Happy Birthday'. Added few images of beakers from the internet. And I had arranged for some cool Science experiments at home. I was actually skeptical whether the boys would like it..but they just loved it!! They had absolute fun and that's what I wanted!!

Looking back : stay-at-home mom

I've been a stay-at-home mom for the past eleven years!! Yes, that's a long time! I've seen my babies take their first steps, learn new words, played with them, went on strolls with them, went shopping with them, put them to sleep and yes, not to leave it, have got frustrated and yelled at them. When I look back I feel happy and even more happy that I have recorded some sweet memories.
