Advent is a period beginning with the Sunday closest to the feast of St.Andrew the apostle (30 November) and embracing four Sundays. The First Sunday of Advent can fall as early as November 27 or as late as December 3.
St.Andrew, the biological brother of St.Peter, invited St.Peter to come and see Jesus. He was awaiting the coming of the messiah and was a disciple of St.John the Baptist. When he knew Jesus, he believed and followed, inviting his brother St.Peter also.
As John the Baptist said lets prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ in our hearts.
"Make straight the way of the Lord"
