Valentine's day is perfect time to show your love and affection to your loved ones, for friends, family and teachers! Making a card or art work instead of buying from the store adds a personal touch! I definitely gets loaded with love! And so here is a Valentine's Day craft/artwork which could be used as a photo frame or a wall hanging!

Magazine pencil stand - DIY

I have reduced the use of plastic as much as I can and hate to throw the few which come in my way. No, I can't let them ruin Mother Earth. Wish we could get rid of these completely or find a way to decompose them. Out of the world, plastic!!! Well, coming back to the post, I had bought yogurt and it came in a plastic container. Savoured the yogurt and recycled the container, along with some old magazine. Double bonus that it had glossy papers. Here is what I did.

Newspaper Photo Frame - DIY

Cut out rectangular strips from newspaper. Roll them tightly with a pencil applying glue at the beginning and end. Remove the pencil. Many many such paper rolls. Then glue few of them together, (I glued 15 rolls) to make the base of the frame.

Paint it once dry. Then glue two on the lengthwise edges. Glue two over the breadth wise edges leaving gap on one side for a photo to be inserted. Paint these rolls too. Then cut out small circles from a paper roll and make a flower with those.

Use two rolls to make a stand at the back for the frame to stand. 

My son wanted a picture from TopGear mag to be displayed on his table.
